Description
This is a stay cool 2 amp BUCK up down adjustable voltage converter that takes any power source up to 24 volts AC, DCC or DC. Power source can be through the trucks of any G, K, O, HO, or N scale car of any type and provides a constant voltage for interior lighting of LED’s or bulbs. (Incandescent bulbs not recommended due to heat they generate.) Use it to tap power from your track for building lights. The grey wires are the connections to the source power and the red/black wire is the DC output with red being positive and black being negative. There is a voltage adjustment potentiometer if you need to change the output voltage. Also provided are 2 metal springs that can ride the axels so you can tap power from the track and a maximum 5 volt DC capacitor to smooth out intermittent connections with the track. Set the buck converter to 3 volts and parallel diodes and the capacitor being aware of the polarity. The advantage is that these do not heat so much that they melt the plastic body of your model.
